Apply now.What you’ll doAs the Fire Safety & Emergency Planning Manager, you will act as Contract Manager for the maintenance and replacement of portable fire-fighting equipment. This will include leading the development of fire risk assessments, the inspection of premises and the provision of professional advice and the supply of fire safety training across the company as well as supporting the Head of Security & Business Continuity with all aspects of emergency planning including assurance checks, tabletop and live exercises.You will have a number of duties and responsibilities that will include but not be limited to:Ensuring that appropriate portable fire-fighting equipment (including hose reels) is provided and undertaking an annual maintenance programme to include maintenance, replacement and recharging in accordance with current Railway Group Standards.Leading the development of fire risk assessments across all Southeastern premises, maintaining a database and completing reviews as required either directly or via Key Safety Leaders.Conducting full, compliant fire risk assessments on new or modified premises.Providing competent fire safety support and advice to any new projects or alterations to Southeastern premises.Ensuring that all legal requirements in respect of fire safety are being adequately observed within Southeastern.Leading emergency planning arrangements for stations, depots and office locations across the Southeastern network.Acting as the lead for tabletop and live emergency exercises for Southeastern.Maintaining detailed records for each premises showing locations of firefighting equipment, equipment type and size.Delivering initial and refresher Fire Precautions Manager (FPM) training for Key Safety Leaders.Carrying out initial routine inspections of all Southeastern premises, including tenancies.Submitting comprehensive reports to the Head of Health, Safety & Environment as necessary.Where will I work?This role is a Monday-Friday position based out of our modern Head Office in London Bridge with some hybrid working as well as travelling our network to SE sites as required.The experience you’ll needTo be considered for this role we you need to demonstrate the below in your application;Mustbe able to demonstrate that you have fire prevention experience in a local authority fire brigade or have equivalent experience within the railway industry.Must be able to demonstrate that you have comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation.Musthave a relevant qualification in fire safety.That you are Proactive and able to work without immediate supervision.That you have excellent communication skills and are able to express yourself confidently and effectively and are friendly with the ability to be engage others in open, honest and productive conversations.That you have excellent attention to detail.That you are transparent and honest and takes full responsibility for actions.That you have excellent planning and organisational skills.As proud members of the Armed Forces Covenant and Disability Confident Scheme, we will offer you an interview if you apply under these schemes and meet the minimum criteria for the role.
