Astute’s Nuclear team is exclusively partnered with HTSL Group who offer a comprehensive radiological managed services that provide end-to-end solutions including equipment, services and training for organisations where radiation is present. They are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) to join their newly established Radiation Protection Team.
This role represents the start of their external RPA consultancy service, where you will play a key role in developing strong relationships with regulators, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
As the business grows, you will be responsible for expanding and leading a team of RPAs to support both internal and external clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across various industries, contributing to the continued success and growth of HTSL Group.
The RPA role comes with a salary of up to �60,000, a �500p/m car allowance and the build and lead a team.
Responsibilities and duties:
As the Radiation Protection Advisor, you will be:
* Responsible for providing expert support on all internal radiation protection matters to ensure compliance and safety across the business.
* Providing clear and concise advice to clients on radiation compliance issues, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and review radiation risk assessments, procedures, and safety cases.
* Conduct audits and inspections, ensuring timely reporting.
* Provide guidance on the safe use, handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
* Offer expert advice on radiological detection equipment.
* Deliver radiation protection training courses to clients and internal teams.
* Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as HSE, ONR, EA, NRW, and support compliance inspections.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
* RPA 2000 is essential
* Ideally 5 years or more experience as an RPA
* Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) certification or progress towards qualification – desirable.
* DGSA certification or strong knowledge of Class 7 transport regulations – desirable.
