Internal Auditor
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (38.75 hours per week)
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Hybrid - a mixture of office and home working (3 days office, 2 from home) with some regional travel.
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + (£4,000 Annual Car Allowance)

We are looking for an Internal Auditor to join our Assurance team, ensuring that our business continues to operate with transparency, accountability, and excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Assurance, you will play a key role in delivering independent, objective assurance over the company’s operations. You will be responsible for conducting risk-based and system audits, providing insights that help strengthen our internal controls and enhance our ways of working.
This role requires a methodical approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. While technical expertise is essential, we also value empathy, pragmatism, and a collaborative mindset, ensuring that our audit function supports and strengthens the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting audits from the Annual Audit Plan in line with internal methodology.
Assessing key risks and controls, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
Engaging with stakeholders throughout the audit process, fostering open discussions and addressing issues with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Preparing audit reports that provide clear, constructive, and commercially sound recommendations.
Performing follow-up reviews to ensure agreed actions are implemented.
Supporting investigations and assurance engagements as required.
What We’re Looking For
A qualified (or part-qualified) Internal Auditor (CIA), Accountant (ACA/ACCA), or IT Auditor (CISA), or someone with relevant experience in internal audit.
Experience conducting audits across core financial systems, general business functions, and internal controls.
Knowledge of FCA-regulated businesses and multi-site environments is desirable but not essential.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and identify opportunities for improvement.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, ensuring a supportive and collaborative approach to audit delivery.
A well-organised individual with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
A full UK driving licence is required, as occasional site visits (less than 10%) may be necessary.
