About The Role
The Highlands is a spacious 14 bedded residential care home in Tyne & Wear supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism,  physical disabilities,  Acquired Brain Injury and complex care needs. We provide a high level of support to enable them to achieve their personal goals, reach their full potential and to live wonderfully normal lives in the community and their own home. The individuals we support at The Highlands love to part take in arts and crafts and have recently entered our Salutem in Bloom competition and received an amazing Special CEO Commendation! They love planning and hosting parties and never miss the opportunity to celebrate any event! They’re huge lovers of Christmas and eagerly anticipate putting up decorations each year. They love all things music and love karaoke! We are often praised for our hard work, and nothing goes a miss. Management are known

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be instrumental in providing high-quality, enabling care, facing new challenges and rewards daily. Your leadership and expertise are key to our success. Key Responsibilities 

- Develop and maintain detailed, person-centered support plans that promote health, wellbeing, relationships, and diversity, while ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards. 
- Implement robust activity plans that encourage autonomy, new experiences, and flexibility, regularly engaging with individuals to seek their views. 
- Support individuals in financial planning, medication self-administration, and regular health reviews, adhering to the Mental Capacity Act principles. 
- Tailor the environment to meet individual needs, ensuring Health and Safety policies, including Fire Safety, are followed. 
- Recruit and manage staff through robust induction, supervision, and training processes, ensuring person-centered schedules and personal development plans. 
- Deliver outstanding care and support by adhering to Salutem's Quality Assurance framework, embodying core values, and managing incidents according to policies.
