As Chef De Partie for Sodexo at Clifton College, Guthrie Road Clifton, Bristol, BS8 3EZ, you will assist with the daily running of the college catering department and conform to the Food Safety and Health and Safety standards across the business.

What you do:
Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including hygiene, cleanliness, and COSHH standards, while being aware of specific workplace hazards.
Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation, production, presentation, and timely service of meals according to company standards and contract specifications.
Inventory Control: Ensure proper control and portioning of raw materials, making sure food is served at appropriate temperatures.
Menu Planning Support: Collaborate with the head chef in planning menus and placing orders when required.
Quality Check: Receive and inspect delivered goods against invoices for quality and adherence to specifications.
Proper Storage: Store goods promptly using a first-in, first-out rotation system in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Hygiene Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and service areas at all times.
Customer Service: Communicate effectively and deliver a polite, efficient, and friendly service to customers and clients.
Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to foster harmonious working relationships within the Sodexo team.
Incident Reporting: Report any incidents related to accidents, theft, or food safety immediately and take appropriate actions as necessary.
What you bring:
1-2 years as a Chef de Partie or a Commis Chef seeking a new challenge.
Previous catering experience with a strong passion for food and team engagement.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
Capability to work well under pressure and meet target deadlines
Demonstrates a positive approach to learning and personal development; self-motivated with initiative.
Ability to work well as part of a team, contributing to team development and flexibility in the role.
Qualifications: Completion of 706/2 or NVQ Level 2 chef qualification (or equivalent) and an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
Desirable Attributes:
Advanced Qualifications: 706/3 or NVQ Level 3 chef hospitality qualification (or equivalent).
Management Experience: Previous experience in catering management and team development in educational settings, along with budget management experience.

Working pattern: Wednesday and Thursday 12.00-18.30. Saturdays 08.00-18.30
