What we are Offering:A competitive salary package.A performance related bonus.A £1,300 flexible benefits fund.Site based role.The chance to make a real difference in a challenging yet rewarding environment.Please see attached benefits guide for everything we have to offer!Your Role as Head of Health and Wellbeing:In this impactful newly created position, you will be responsible for driving transformation and embedding best practices across all aspects of health, social care, and wellbeing within the prison, including through-the-gate services.Reporting to the Directorate, you will manage service providers to ensure contractual and performance targets are met while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality care.Our prison is uniquely positioned as the only dual prison in the UK, housing both male and female prisoners, offering an unparalleled opportunity to address diverse health and wellbeing needs.As part of your leadership responsibilities, you will directly manage the Head of Safer Custody, delivering a holistic safety, health, and wellbeing strategy across the prison.You will oversee the heads of Health and Safety, Drug Strategy, the Gym, Diversity and Inclusion, and possibly additional areas.Furthermore, you will drive staff wellbeing initiatives in collaboration with the HR Business Partner, contributing to the overall morale and engagement of the workforce.The role demands a balance of strategic oversight and operational delivery, ensuring health and wellbeing services meet both internal standards and external audit requirements.This is an opportunity to innovate and implement programmes that address complex needs, from mental health and substance misuse to fitness and nutrition.Through collaboration with internal teams and external partners, you will contribute to creating a secure, rehabilitative, and forward-thinking environment that prioritises wellbeing for both staff and prisoners.Please see the attached job description for a more detailed list of the main responsibilities.What we are looking for:Essential:Proven experience in senior leadership, preferably in an operational, health-focused, or people-centred role.Authentic leadership with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders effectively.Expertise in performance management frameworks and staff development initiatives.Strong strategic decision-making skills with a solution-focused approach.Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative health and wellbeing strategies with measurable results.In-depth understanding of occupational health, mental health, and wellbeing best practices.Strong understanding of multi-agency partnership working in health, social care, and criminal justice.Commitment to personal and team development.Desirable:Leadership experience in a custodial environment.Qualification in occupational health, psychology, or a related field.Join us and make a difference in this transformational role.
