Data Governance Officer£32000 - £37000Reporting to our Head of Information Systems, our Data Governance Officer will be responsible for ensuring our compliance with GDPR legislation, including handling of SAR requests, improving policies for stored data and supporting our wider teams to ensure compliance.• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 9-5, flexible hybrid working.• Annual Leave: You will receive 33 days per annum; our holiday year runs from March to February.• Additional leave: at 2 years and 5 years’ service.• Training Academy: An in-depth induction and welcome programme.• Bonuses: A bonus of £1000 every time you successfully refer a friend.• Pension: Auto enrolment into our Company pension.• Recognition Awards: Our monthly Wilderness Heroes Awards celebrate you and your team’s success.• Your Wellbeing: Excellent health and wellbeing benefits via Medicash, including an employee assistance programme; a cash back healthcare plan that offers discounts on optical, dental, and a range of complimentary therapies; 24/7 access to a virtual GP, and other lifestyle apps to support your wellbeing; discounted gym memberships.• Life Assurance: of 2 times annual salary.• Discounts: A range of discount schemes with access to savings on high street brands, restaurants, cinemas, and other leisure outlets, including local businesses following feedback from our employees.Main Responsibilities:• Ensure all subject access requests for personal records are dealt with efficiently and in keeping with the law.• Process all associated documentation regarding appropriateness of requests, photocopying, consents and identification checks ensuring that processes are consistent, transparent and legally compliant.• Audit and create inventories of information created and stored within the organisation.• Keep up to date with new developments and service changes in relation to records management and subject access requests, as part of an individual development plan.• Actively promote good practice within the department and report through any issues of concern relative to the service provision and job.• Fulfil the Data Protection Officer role within the company.Key Qualities we look for:• Educated to Degree Level or otherwise suitable experience.• Knowledge of Information Governance principles, including the Data Protection Act 2018/ General Data Protection Regulations• Previous DPO experience.• Previous experience of Risk Management in a Data Environment• Experience working with Children’s data or Social Care Data• Experience or understanding of IS0270001• Full UK manual driving licence with access to own vehicle for travelling between sites.
