Astute’s Power Team are working with a leading independent waste management company who have a large presence in London. They are in the process of developing a brand new Waste Transfer Station, located in Barking, and are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the team.
As the Maintenance Manager you will be managing the maintenance strategy on site including the planned preventative maintenance programme, plant modification & projects, outages and longer term engineering requirements in addition to coordinating daily activities of technicians and fitters.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Manager role
Reporting to the Transfer Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Ensure the site operates in full compliance with all current legislation, including environmental regulations.
* Oversee and uphold health, safety, and security standards across the site.
* Coordinate the effective management of all plant, equipment, infrastructure, and vehicles.
* Supervise and support site personnel and contractors.
* Oversee service agreements, contracts, and project delivery.
* Manage financial operations, including budgeting and cost control.
* Handle all internal and external communications and maintain accurate documentation.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* An engineering qualification in a relevant Mechanical / Electrical field. Ideally a minimum Level 3.
* IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
Personal skills
The Maintenance Manager role would suit someone who has:
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations
* Proficient in the use of MS Office suite
* At least 5 years supervisor experience in a similar role from a similar relevant industry such as Waste Management, Power Generation, Process Engineering etc
* Maintenance scheduling & coordinating experience
