We have huge ambitions for the future and want to continue our growth and innovation to remain at the leading edge of our industry.Main ResponsibilitiesAs the Lead Permitter you will work as part of the team and be responsible for overseeing the application of the highways and streetworks; works permits process. The role involves close liaison with local and county council authorities, our clients and Highways / Streetworks Teams to establish works programmes for various workstreams, ensuring your team meets with compliance with road space booking requirements and associated permits and monitoring of works on site and close liaison with key supply chain partners. This role covers London boroughs so travel across London will be required.Responsibilities of the role (not exhaustive):You will manage a team of 3 Permit coordinatorsWork with the wider Riney businesses to deliver all Works within the scope of the roleEnsure and manage your team to ensure all works are correctly noticed in accordance with the TMA Act / EToN6 permitting systems / procedures, along with clear communication of works grantedWork closely with internal and external suppliers to reduce any delaysCommunicate effectively with both our internal and external customers in relation to all site requirementsAgree a programme of works to completion with client and regularly provide updates to promote; and ensure a proactive and positive working relationshipMeeting programme deadlines and ensuring contract compliance incl KPI targetsWork in line with the companies Safety, Health & Environmental policiesThe Ideal CandidateTo be successful in this role ofLead Permitter, you will have experience within a similar position within a highway’s and /or streetworks environment.Specific Requirements:Technical background, ideally from within the civils sector, but transferable technical experience would prove highly beneficialConfident in leading a team and dealing with complex issues, and demonstrate the ability to do so on a regular basisHighways Maintenance Experience – Understanding of build process and timelines along with Traffic Management guidance (Chapter 8)Knowledge and Skills of works in LA Maintenance along with experience and knowledge of road space application standardsDesirable requirements:Contracting Methods – knowledge of contracts methods and up to date knowledge of specifications and contractsTechnical Level – demonstrate a high level of ability, advanced knowledge and techniques to pass on to othersWhy usAlong with the role of Lead Permitter, we additionally offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits:Bonus schemeContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.
