Interim Building Surveyor
Rate: £47.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Warwick/Hybrid

A forward-thinking local authority in Warwick is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their Property Services team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong technical knowledge and project management skills to make a tangible impact on the maintenance and improvement of public assets.

Role Overview:

You will undertake a full range of Building Surveying and Project Management duties to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the Council’s property portfolio and housing stock. Your role will ensure the Council meets its landlord obligations and service delivery commitments in line with current and upcoming legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed building surveys and produce reports.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage resultant works from initial surveys.
- Project manage major works in occupied residential and commercial properties.
- Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure works are delivered to specification, time, and budget.
- Monitor and manage budgets for individual projects, ensuring value for money.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and housing legislation.

Essential Experience & Skills:

- Proven experience in building surveying, including planning and managing repair and improvement works.
- Strong project management skills, particularly for works in occupied homes or business premises.
- Ability to monitor and manage project budgets effectively.
- Strong understanding of building regulations, health & safety, and landlord responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
