A opportunity is available for a Projects Team Manager based at Bodmin or Redruth. Reporting to the Head of Operations Projects, the Team Manager is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary operational team. You will create a clear vision, set clear expectations, recognise excellent performance and positively support colleagues’ professional development. DeliveryDeliver your £100m+ portfolio to time, cost, quality and volume, reporting as appropriate to the various boards, ensuring that you always know your numbers.Manage the 5-year plan for Asset replacement, Reinforcement and New Connections works, liaising with all stakeholders including Primary System Design, Engineering Design, Wayleaves and Procurement to ensure execution of the programme.Continually review that the programme is fully optimised both in terms of content, time frames and value for money.Approve, monitor and sign off expenditure for individual capital schemes, identify and comment on variances, escalating when outside of authority levels.Successfully manage unit costs of work undertaken through the efficient management of the workforce aligned to the work programme.Monitor tasks and expenditure to ensure working is undertaken within budget and in accordance with annual programme.Continuously reflect on work undertaken and performance of team to identify and implement improvements.Manage framework contractors, ensuring that contracts are let and managed in accordance with the framework requirements, and work is completed to time, cost and quality.Ensure the team delivers a high level of customer service at all times and achieves all customer service-related performance targets.Speak on behalf of the Company and the team, both internally and externally, on issues that relate to own team’s activities.Ensure environmental targets are met during the execution of works by the team and contractorsEnsure the team have the correct facilities, tools, equipment and vehicles to undertake their work.The Ideal CandidateLeadership capability aligned to the expectation of the role, including an ability to empower and lead through others. A good understanding of the importance of building a positive work culture aligned to the future challenges of the business. Experience of delivering exceptional results in either capital programme management, large construction management, field-based service delivery or large field based operational units.A strong programme and project management ability is essential, preferably within a regulated industry.A good understanding of the electricity distribution operating environment is a nice to have as is being a data whizz. The successful candidate will need to undertake the following qualifications/development programmes to ensure success in the role and enable progression:Engineering Level 4 qualification or relevant business management qualification.
