Would you like the opportunity to manage an effective regional maintenance team across the Midlands?We are recruiting a Regional Maintenance Manager to lead our friendly Engineering team (mechanical and electrical) coveringTarmac Asphalt Plants across the Midlands region.This key role is responsible for maximising the efficiency of the process and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed plant across the Midlands region.The role is easily accessible from Leicester, Burton upon Trent, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, ‘who you are’ matters. If you share our values and are proud of a job well done, collaborative in working well with others and ambitious to make things better, then have a read of what we have on offer.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will be responsible for taking ownership of performance and quality, achieving and maximising the efficiency of the process and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed plant.You will manage a team of both mechanical Fitters and electrical engineers to control health and safety requirements in respect of the full range of activities carried out on site.AsRegional Maintenance Manager you will be proactive and ‘hands on’ in all maintenance activity including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), defect and risk management, breakdowns, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and project engineering work. Your responsibilities will include:Monitoring and maximising productivity of processes, making cost effective use of resources, products and equipment. Identifying ways to improve processes and qualityCommunicating performance targets and KPI’s to team through meetings, briefings and site objectivesManaging plant maintenance checks and inspections as required including basic maintenance practices (i.e. check levels, parts, wear, pressure and sensors, grease and lubricate equipment)Undertaking and/or reviewing maintenance inspections and reporting defectsMonitoring and reporting key successes and deficiencies across sites (performance, product, equipment, people) to site managers, undertaking root cause analysis and highlighting problems as necessaryAssist in development of 5 year CAPEX planControlling and managing production-associated costs (including contract labour and overtime)Delivering the maintenance management systems, ensuring appropriate application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practicesManaging Health and Safety rules and regulations across all sitesThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will be instrumental in the development and support of the engineering culture across the region.You will have experience as an Engineering Manager or Maintenance Supervisor within a similar heavy manufacturing industry with responsibility for successfully managing a regional team.Suitable candidates for the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will have:Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems knowledge, with an understanding of electrical systemsProven experience successfully managing a multi discipline maintenance teamConfidence and ability to challenge people appropriately and hold them accountable for job completion and quality of completionWorking knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, Lean methodology, Six Sigma and FMEA and Root Cause Analysis investigative methods preferredStrong evidence of effective team management with a positive, proactive solution focussed attitudeIT literate - familiarity with computer software (word, excel, in house systems)Recognised apprenticeship or engineering degree or equivalent experienceHere at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Why TarmacIn addition to the role of Regional Maintenance Manager we offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits:Bonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.(REACH) Religious, Ethnic, Cultural Heritage, LGBTQ+, Parents & Carers, Ability, Wellbeing, Female Voice and MenopauseTraining and development opportunitiesInterested?
