What You'll Be Doing:
As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist , you'll play a key role in facilitating recovery and safe discharge for patients undergoing elective procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
* conducting functional assessments and post-op rehabilitation planning
* supporting patient recovery and discharge across elective surgery pathways
* collaborating with surgical, nursing, and AHP teams for joined-up care
* identifying equipment needs and home adaptations for post-discharge safety
* leading on clinical decision-making and mentoring junior staff
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
* substantial experience working in surgical or inpatient OT settings
* strong clinical reasoning and discharge planning skills
* the ability to supervise and support junior team members
* excellent communication and documentation skills
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:30), but part-time applicants will also be considered. The post is offered on an ongoing contract basis , with a strong likelihood of extension depending on service needs.
