Astute’s Power Team are partnered exclusively with a leading engineering consultancy, Rosa Engineering, who specialise in energy, chemicals, civil & infrastructure sectors. Their offerings include electrical, civil, and structural engineering, HV switching, and tailored technical training—delivered with a strong focus on safety, innovation, and compliance and can be delivered from their own workshop in Ferrybridge, Yorkshire or out on client sites.

Astute are supporting the recruitment of a HV/LV Electrical Trainer to join their growing team to meet customer needs in this busy sector. As a High Voltage Electrical Trainer, you will be an integral part of the team, maintaining and improving high voltage competency across their key sectors. You will be designing and delivering their excellent training programme that meets industry safety, technical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities and duties of the High Voltage Trainer role You will be responsible for:

* Designing, develop and deliver a high quality HV training programme which includes SAP, AP, Electrical Awareness, Switch room Access and Safety Rules.
* Delivering training at the Rosa Engineering workshop and customer sites which can be across the UK.
* Facilitate dynamic, technically sound training sessions through a blend of classroom teaching, interactive desktop exercises, and practical hands-on activities.
* Help shape and evolve Rosa’s training programmes to reflect changing legislation, best practices, and client needs.
* Deliver exceptional customer service, monitor delegate feedback, and support strong Net Promoter Score (NPS) performance.
* Ensure all training materials meet industry regulations, including Electricity at Work, HSG85, and company-specific safety rules.
* Maintain and improve training tools and equipment, including simulators and assessment resources.
* Carry out and document risk assessments for all training activities, both in preparation and on-site.
* Stay informed on internal policies and legal responsibilities, such as manual handling, first aid, and working at height.
* Contribute to governance and safety forums, supporting continuous improvement and alignment with Rosa’s core values.
* Collaborate with the Customer Requirements team to develop tailored training proposals and deliver technical content.
* Provide accurate reports and performance metrics to the Training & Development Director as needed.

Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

* Ideally qualified with a degree in a relevant electrical engineering field.
* IOSH or NEBOSH
* Qualified as a Senior Authorised Person
* Full understanding of Electrical fundamentals & theory
* Any recognised training / leadership qualifications would be advantageous

Personal skills The HV Trainer role would suit someone who is:

* At least 5 years’ experience in an operational environment on a power station or similar industry setting with Supervisory experience. This could be Energy from Waste, Coal, CCGT, Biomass, CHP, Nuclear, COMAH sites etc
* Senior Marine Engineers with significant Electrical Engineering experience would be considered
* Excellent people skills
* Awareness of current standards, regulations, legislation and technical developments
* UK Driving License
* You must have full eligibility to work in the UK
