Art Editor Salary £30,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience)FT - 35 hours per weekHybrid - London - Travel to our London office at least twice a weekHere at Saga, we are looking for an Art Editor. The art editor will support the Art Director in delivery of art and design for Saga Magazine brand. They will ensure all design meets the high quality of design associated with the brand and adheres to the creative style guide, under the direction of the Art Director. They will be a creative thinker and have the ability to come up with design solutions to present editorial content in an innovative way. They will be well versed in commissioning illustration and work effectively with the Picture Editor and Art Director in planning and producing photo shoots. They will also need to keep up-to-date with trends in photography and illustration and constantly be on the lookout for new and interesting talent. They will be able to take on picture research as needed and will be aware of licensing and rights.They will be able to advise on picture use for the Saga Magazine website and be a digital native, able to confidently produce assets for our digital channels.The art editor will be an Adobe InDesign expert, with a good working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator and will be able to undertake simple retouching. They will have experience of flatplanning software.They will be a great communicator, being able to articulately communicate with the team and colleagues in the wider business, to ensure the smooth running of the department. The art editor will assist with creating engaging and beautifully designed decks/presentations for the magazine team.The art editor will be capable of being able to successfully deputise for the Art Director in all areas, from Art Direction of shoots to sending the magazine to press. They will be confident in managing freelancers and ensuring the workflow of the art and pictures desk is maintained at all stages of the production process.Package DescriptionEveryday our colleagues deliver exceptional experiences to our customers.
