You will be supporting the team with a range of statutory work taking a lead in complex casework, conflict resolution, Tribunal cases and most importantly able to demonstrate a person-centred approach to working with Coventry’s families, children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.You will hold a caseload of complex cases linked to a range of educational settings responsible for overseeing the Education, Health and Care needs assessment process and ensuring annual reviews are completed in a timely manner.You will be able to produce high quality Education, Health and Care Plans for children and young people across the 0-25 age range ensuring compliance with the Children's and Families Act 2014 and the Equality Act 2010.This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).Who are we looking for?We are looking for an experienced individual who has substantial working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2014, the SEND Regulations and Equality Act 2010. You will have line management experience and be a champion for children and young people with SEND.You will be highly literate, an excellent communicator, able to prioritise work streams in a busy environment, able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including families, children, young people, schools, colleges, health and social care. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, person-centred professional who will support and work within the Coventry One Values understanding that we deliver a valuable public service utilising public resources. You will need to be creative, and solution focussed in order to successfully support and lead your team.Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate valuable experience of working in an inclusive senior role where you have demonstrated your commitment to children and young people with additional needs.
