We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, expert technical solutions, and upholding the highest industry standards.Role Overview:Lloyds British is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Technical Standards to lead and enhance our technical standards framework within the test, inspection, and certification industry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining the technical integrity of our operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across our technical teams.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the technical standards strategy for the company, ensuring compliance with UKAS, SAFed, LEEA, BSI, and other relevant regulatory bodies.Oversee and drive compliance with BS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 standards, particularly in relation to managing associated risk registers, ensuring proper monitoring, and reporting.Lead, motivate, and develop a technical team, ensuring high performance while fostering collaboration across different departments and divisions within the organisation.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality assurance, and R&D, to meet both technical and commercial objectives.Collaborate with senior management to set and meet financial and performance targets, ensuring technical activities align with broader organisational goals.Stay informed on the latest developments and trends in the industry by identifying key information sources, ensuring that Lloyds British remains a leader in its markets.Champion continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on operational efficiency, quality assurance, and adherence to industry best practices.Ensure all technical staff are well-trained, knowledgeable, and compliant with relevant standards through the development and delivery of training programs.Qualifications and Experience:A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with honours in Engineering (or equivalent), with strong technical expertise in test, inspection, and certification processes.Extensive experience within a technical team in the test, inspection, and certification industry, with a deep understanding of the sector’s technical standards and regulatory environment.Proven experience with UKAS, SAFed, LEEA, BSI, and other governing bodies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.Demonstrable experience in leading successful teams, fostering collaboration, and working across departments to achieve both technical and commercial targets within an organisational structure.Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance technical objectives with financial performance goals.Awareness of the latest industry trends and knowledge of best practices in the test and inspection sectors, ensuring the company remains competitive and compliant with evolving industry standards.Detailed knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012, especially where National Contracts apply, including managing compliance, monitoring, and mitigating risks.Why Join Lloyds British?At Lloyds British, we offer a collaborative work environment where your expertise will directly impact the success of our company.
