Are you an experienced and dynamicMulti Skilled Operative looking for your next position?We are currently looking for anArea Relief Multi Skilled Operative based primarily at ourElstow plant in Bedford, alongside providing relief cover to other Asphalt plants within the region for which transportation will be provided. Reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, theMulti Skilled Operativewill work on the day-to-day operations driving mobile plant and other site duties, working with the team to the site plan, ensuring that stocks are maintained and replenished in good time.Main ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities as theArea Relief Multi Skilled Operativewill include (not exhaustive):Operating Mobile Plant on siteWorking with other members of the team to ensure that customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveriesAssisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targetsFollowing SHE policies and proceduresEnsuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all timesHealth, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilitiesInspections on the plant, acting on defects and implement remedial actionEnsuring that plant availability is maximisedWorking to keep housekeeping around site to a high standardThe role is a shift position so you will be required to work a set shift pattern, with overtime when available, to meet with the area’s production needs.The Ideal CandidateTo succeed in the role of anArea Relief Multi Skilled Operativethe following is what we are looking for in a future colleague:Knowledge of PlantIT LiterateShovel License – highly desirableGood Timekeeping – flexible as to the site requirementsGood Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line ManagementPrevious experience in mobile plant operationsFull UK manual car Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty pointsPrevious experience working in an Asphalt / RMX / Plant / Quarry / Industrial Manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficial; but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.The role is based our at Elstow Asphalt Plant, close to Bedford in Bedfordshire. The plant is easily accessible via most major road networks and commutable from Bedford, Kempston, Cranfield, Sandy, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Rushden, Letchworth Garden City, Bletchley, Northampton, Luton, Stevenage, Rushden Wellingborough and the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, ‘who you are’ matters.
