We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part- time Finance Clerk to join the Finance Operations team at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester. This role is responsible for coordinating financial information and activities for the Finance Team, providing administrative support, acting as an electronic Procurement Card Checking Officer, maintaining the electronic Procurement Card register, and reviewing Letters of Delegation and training evidence. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-performing team that plays a crucial role in supporting the operational activities of the 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team.16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team is one of the busiest Army Brigades, overseeing multiple training and operational lines of activity. The Finance Operations (J8) team ensures maximum effectiveness and value for money is achieved while maintaining compliance with Defence policy and regulations. You will be required to liaise with various stakeholders to achieve the required team outputs. What you’ll do:Provide administrative support to Finance Officers, including drafting and sending routine correspondence as necessary.Act as an electronic Procurement Card Checking Officer, conducting regular checks on transactions to verify compliance with MOD policy, addressing and documenting any discrepancies found in cardholders' uploaded evidence.Maintain the Procurement Card Checking register and provide guidance to cardholders on completing audit processes.Review cardholder Letters of Delegation and training evidence on an annual basis.Maintain excellent relationships with clients and customers.Ensure effective communication with your line manager, team, customer, and client organization.Maintain all areas of responsibility to set service standards in line with applicable service offers.Improved efficiency whilst in compliance with mandated financial outputs.Carry out any other reasonable tasks and/or instructions as directed by management.What you bring:Administrative experience in an office environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and using online platforms like SharePoint.Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize, organize, and plan effectively.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent experience; or NVQ Business Administration Level 2.Security Check (CS) clearance (application process conducted following job offer).DesirableKnowledge of military IT systems and environment.Commercial or finance background.What we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
