adi Mechanical Business Development Manager

Location - We are ideally seeking a candidate based in the South Region who is willing to travel to client sites as needed. You will be covering the south of England as your Geographical patch for this role.

About the Role

As the Business Development Manager for Mechanical Fabrications and Pipework, you will report directly to the Business Development Director. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities to drive growth and expand our customer base.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

* Oversee the sales process, including lead generation, capture planning, technical solution creation, proposal writing, and contract negotiations.
* Create sales presentation materials and commercial proposals, while also contributing to initiatives for introducing new services.
* Collaborate with clients in the FMCG, food, and chemical manufacturing sectors to discuss opportunities related to fabrication, mechanical projects, and pipework installations.
* Estimate and provide quotes for work, and address any technical queries that arise.
* Develop and manage business strategies.
* Work closely with the Project and Design team on projects, ensuring a clear understanding of technical queries.
* Create and implement business development and marketing plans aimed at increasing revenue within the mechanical division.
* Analyse competitors, assessing their offerings and technologies, strengths and weaknesses, and pricing structures.
* Produce regular reports and business updates as requested.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

* A solid understanding of mechanical business streams, fabrication, welding, and process pipework.
* Previous business development sales experience.
* Extensive knowledge of the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and food manufacturing sectors, along with established contacts within the industry.
* The ability to create and develop business development strategies and prepare quotations for new projects.
* A good understanding of the sales cycle and account management.
* An entrepreneurial mindset.
* A positive attitude and self-motivated personality, complemented by strong communication skills.
