Working across the county and in partnership with the Police, PaDs aims to assess need and intervene early to address problematic behaviours and prevent or divert young people from entering the formal criminal justice system. As part of the PaDs team you will complete assessments, deliver interventions, signpost to other services, and broker arrangements, ensuring that, wherever possible, restorative justice processes have been used for the benefit of all parties, and the young person has access to the services required to meet their needs in the future.This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly effective service. We are looking for creative, persistent and extremely motivated people to work across the county with young people, their families, and victims to address the issues that have brought the young people to the attention of our service and repair the harm caused through their behaviour. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.About youEducated to at least A level standard, you will have some experience of working with children and young people, the ability to engage positively with them, their parents/carers, the victims of their offences and colleagues in other agencies. You will be highly organised and self-motivated, whilst knowledge of youth justice legislation isn’t essential an understanding of how legislation impacts on sentencing and a desire to learn and understand legislation is of benefit.If you can meet these challenges, we’d love to meet you.This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate.
