Logistics Manager - National - Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 17:00 - 37.5 hours per weekSpeedy are the UK’s leading hire provider with the widest range of tools, specialist hire equipment, plant and support services – everything for every job!An opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Manager to join our team.You will beresponsible for overseeing the planning, movement, storage, end to end distribution activity and ensuring efficiency in supply chain operations.This involves managing transportation, utilization, inventory control, and vendor relations to meet customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing productivity.Along with responsibility for multi-site Logistics you will have a focus on managing key projects in line with the overall company strategy.Role Responsibilities:Work alongside the internal Operations, Fleet and Project teams to ensure that the customer receives the highest level of service delivery.Maintain and develop further effective route/transport mapping in line with the refinement of the availability and utilisation strategy.Ensure appropriate infrastructure, systems and processes are implemented enabling Speedy to continuously improve and deliver sustainable business growth.Deliver sustained growth and profitability through implementing a logistics business plan.Accountable for fleet management of all HGV van and car fleet, along with management of transport suppliers, rental providers, and fuel cards and for ensuring that the business maintains FORS accreditation.Implement, improve and sustain the modern logistics processes in order to improve product availability based on customer, service centre/store/depot data and to ensure that product availability remains lean/efficient.Develop existing and new customer relationships in the logistics space to understand existing and potential needs to optimise a bespoke logistics offering route wideManagement of risk to avoid, reduce and mitigate the potential of negative impact on the health of employees, customers or general public.Engage all necessary stakeholders including Operations and Management through requested and self-initiated reportingManaging and reporting on the compliance performance of depot locations against specific KPI’s ensuring a consistent, strong performance opportunities are maximised and identifying issues and remedial action.Regular Depot Audits for Logistics Compliance and Standards to improve product delivery, quality and controlReview all process and policy to ensure continuous improvement across all areas of the Fleet & Logistics TeamAt Speedy, we want to help you develop and progress; but we’ll need you to demonstrate these skills and attributes for us to be able to support you…What you’ll need:Communication - Communicates clearly and concisely, impressing others and ensuring understanding of all relevant information in all circumstances and with all stakeholdersWorking Safely- Ensures mandatory training practises are implemented in everyday tasks Prioritises mental health and wellbeingPeople Management and Development -People centric, with a coaching style that provides for team development and successionPlanning, Organising and Executing -Able to understand the priorities, plan and organise the work and manage own time to deliver within the expected timescalesRisk Management -aware on the impact of risk to the business and applies the necessary controlsSpeedy operates an industry leading Work Life Balance initiative, demonstrating our commitment to reducing core contracted hours, supporting colleague wellbeing, and identifying more balanced work patterns for our colleagues which is a huge step in realising our ambition of putting our People First.
