Autism Anglia and Doucecroft School, based in Colchester, are seeking an EHCP Administrator. The successful Education and Healthcare Plan Administrator will aim to provide effective administration and organisation, ensuring that EHCP Annual Reviews are held in a timely manner in accordance with statutory legislation. The primary role being to manage the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process for all students across the school.Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6Salary: £21,500 to £24,000 per annum (Term Time only, plus additional days for training) depending on experienceHours: 38.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per annum (term time only) plus 3 days per annum during school holidaysThe role:Manage the administration of EHCP review processes by ensuring a high-quality administration system for supporting and tracking EHCP processesTo chair EHCP meetings, keeping accurate records of meetings and discussions with parents and outside agencies, where appropriateWork with the leadership team, teaching team and other staff to ensure that pupil and parent views are used to set subject- specific targets, appropriate to individual pupils’ needs.To quality assure the paperwork, ensuring that the school is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice.To ensure learners’ records are kept up to date and accurate and to provide data and reports as and when required.To liaise with and inform parents/carers about the specifics of the EHCP annual review for their childrenReceive and respond promptly and appropriately to spoken requests over the telephone or in person and to verbal and/or written instructionsPlay a full part in building good relationships with other staff and students and with parents/carers and external bodies, communicate effectively and maintain professional boundariesHave a thorough understanding of autism and treat students with dignity and respect and to be aware of the vulnerability of students at the schoolPromote the safety and wellbeing of children and young peopleEnsure that the School’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are promoted within the school and adhered to by all members of staffApplications are welcome from applicants with the following:Maths and English GCSE Grade C or aboveRelevant experience working with learners with autism or learning disabilities in an educational setting is highly advantageousA good knowledge of the SEND Code of PracticeExperience of working closely with parents in successful home-school partnerships that support pupils’ needsBy its nature, Doucecroft School offers an excellent work/life balance reflected by small class sizes and a senior leadership team who are committed to reducing the administrative tasks of its teachers, to allow teaching staff to focus heavily on direct outcomes for the students.To apply:If you have a genuine passion for teaching and providing excellent education to all, your outstanding future at Doucecroft School could be moments away.
