The school values are honesty, integrity, trust, empathy, respect.What is the job role?The Site Services Officer (SSO) will be responsible for general site duties, including opening and closing the premises, repairs and maintenance, porterage, waste management, emergency call outs, and health and safety tasks. Additional responsibilities include managing contractors, grounds maintenance, cleaning, and carrying out statutory checks to ensure cleanliness, security, and the welfare of all individuals using the school premises. This full-time, year-round role requires flexibility to work shifts between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm, depending on the school’s operational needs. You will need to work flexibly at all times and may occasionally need to adjust working patterns, including mornings or split shifts, to cover holidays and absences. Annual leave may need to be taken during school holidays. The candidate should be physically fit, possess good communication skills, and be able to adapt to various situations. Future duties may include weekend work if facilities lettings are introduced.Who are we looking for?We are looking for a person with:Previous experience in caretaking and security, ideally on a school site is preferredA repairs and maintenance background is required, ideally, you will be qualified in a relevant trade e.g. carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating etcA full and clean driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive the school minibus on occasion collecting equipment and site supplies, filling up with fuel.Interview date: Thursday 3rd AprilOur school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
