Working within Resource Team, the Logistics Planner will provide support to the whole business. Contribute to logistics planning, through the allocation of resource (crews/vehicles), preparation of reports, and organising inductions. Monitor costs and efficiency whilst ensuring outstanding customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule crews and vehicles, planning weekly activity for all teams, following established procedures to ensure on-time delivery.Communicate with crews in a manner to aid in the retention of capable and quality Field Operatives.Produce, update, and provide support on a wide range of queries.Prepare documents for use by the Resource team and other departments. Also responsible for gathering and summarising data for reports.Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.Carry out a range of supply chain management activities.Ensure that customer requirements are met efficiently, incurring minimal cost.Provide other departments with logistics information when required and deal with crew/resource enquiries in an efficient manner.Liaise with the Resource Manager to determine the most efficient delivery option, including outsourcing transport and labour as needed.Raise Purchase Orders and organise third-party transport.Liaise with the customer as necessary to ensure they are updated with any logistics requirements or amendments.The Ideal CandidateApproachable and maintains regular contact with individuals who depend on or who influence own work.Proven experience & success in scheduling a multi tasked fleet of wagons & operatives preferable, though not essential.Obtains and uses necessary information to make decisions.
