Are you looking for a varied, challenging and rewarding position where you can help make a difference to young people’s lives and supervise and mentor staff?Arnold House is a five bedded residential unit housing young people with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and learning difficulties between the ages of 8-18. The Arnold House team are committed to providing the best quality care for the young people that they look after and as such we are looking for a candidate who will share that passion and have a genuine motivation to achieve the best possible care and outcomes for young people.The role includes supporting with day-to-day life, which may include working alongside the children’s families and other professionals, assisting the children with education and life skills and providing the children with support and guidance and positive life experiences. You will complete risk assessments, PBSP, and any other paperwork related to the young person, demonstrating evidence-based practices. You will lead a care team focused on the young person’s progress and development.Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and documentation to meet Ofsted regulations.Conducting regular supervision sessions with team members, offering guidance, feedback, and support to help them excel in their roles.Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children within the home, monitoring and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.You will advocate for the rights and best interests of the children, ensuring they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.You will work collaboratively with other team leaders and staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive work environment.Maintaining accurate records of the children’s progress, behaviour, and any incidents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Identifying training needs for team members and supporting their professional development to enhance their skills and knowledgeAbout youYou need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You will find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.You will have a nurturing nature with a child centric approach to the support you give whether that be personal care or creating tailored experiences for our children.Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence as you will be accompanying our children to appointments or activities.Experience of working with young people with Autism in either a professional or voluntary capacity is essential, as is evidence of an ongoing interest and commitment to young people.You have considerable experience and knowledge of working with children/adults with difficulties, challenging behaviour and or disabilities and you have knowledge of social work techniques and experience of residential provision.When applying please ensure your supporting statement covers how you fulfil the essential criteria set out in the person specification as this will be used for shortlisting.You will need to provide a full employment history including any gaps since leaving full time education. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate.
