Are you an experienced and dynamic Transport Supervisor looking for your next position?We are currently looking for a Transport Supervisorto join our fantastic team located from our site in Wick Lane, Bow, London. You will beresponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transport department, managing a team of drivers and ensuring that day to day operations run efficiently and within budget. The Transport Supervisor will also ensure that vehicles are properly serviced within the manufacturers and Operators licence undertakings.Main responsibilities:As the successful Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for Supervising and managing a team of office staff, drivers and fitters.On a day-to-day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Transport Supervisor will include (not exhaustive):Monitoring driver performance - understand EU, GB domestics and WTD regulationsEnsure drivers follow the safe driving practices and comply with the relevant laws and company standardsAssisting in managing transport and maintenance budgetsDocumenting all transport information in a live data baseMaking sure all vehicles are in a roadworthy condition as per the guide to maintain roadworthinessImplementing business objectivesEnsuring compliance to the operators’ regulations and the business standardsManaging data basesDeveloping and implementing transport policies and procedures in line with legal and company changesManaging and maintaining maintenance schedules and repairs Conducting accident investigations and reportsManaging the budget for the transportation department and make recommendations for cost saving measuresThe ideal candidate:The ideal Transport Supervisorwill be a highly organised analytical thinker with good oral and written communication skills who is able to meet deadlines under pressure whilst managing multiple tasks.Suitable candidates for the Transport Supervisor role will possess the following:Minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation management, a Transport manager National CPC would be beneficialProficiency in transportation management systemsExcellent leadership and communication skillsAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsKnowledgeable of transportation regulations and safety standardsThe role is based at Belvedere with travel required to our various office and site locations within the London area, for which you will be provided with a company van.At J B Riney, our people are our company.
