An opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time (1.0WTE; 37.5hours) Band A Dental Officer to join the Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust based in the Community Dental Service.The Community Dental Service aims to be the leading provider of care in special care dentistry for children and adults of Tier 2 complexity and above, in Leeds.A Dental Officer would be expected in their duties to perform dental care for children and adults in clinics located throughout the city, which may also involve supporting in General Anaesthetic theatres within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, screening at the Adel beck Secure Children’s Home and domiciliary visits.Clinical facilities include surgeries equipped with ceiling track hoists, a wheelchair recliner and bariatric bench, surgeries set up to provide inhalation and intravenous sedation, and access to comprehensive care under GA.Other duties include working in partnership to provide clinical support to the dental team.A Dental Officer is accountable to the Consultant in Special Care Dentistry and Heads of Service.They would be expected in their duties to perform dental care for adults and children in clinics located throughout the city. Domiciliary visits, screening at the Adel Beck Secure children’s home and assisting in GA theatres may be required.Assessment and treatment of adults and children of Tier 2 complexity is expected.
