In a social care team, the role of a paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) in moving and handling is crucial, especially when working with children who have physical, developmental, or neurological challenges that affect their mobility or need assistance with physical movement. Moving and handling involves safely assisting children to move, whether it's from a seated position to standing, during transfers, or with repositioning in bed or a chair.
Paediatric OTs are skilled in developing strategies that ensure safety, comfort, and the child's dignity during such processes.
Here's how paediatric OTs contribute to this area within a social care team:
1. Assessment of the Child's Needs
2. Designing Safe Moving and Handling Techniques
3. Providing Education and Training
4. Promoting Dignity and Comfort
5. Integrating into the Social Care Team
6. Monitoring and Reviewing Progress

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* a current and valid HCPC registration
* experience working with Paediatrics
* strong communication and interpersonal skills
* the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a flexible working position requires availability from with flexibility where possible. The contract has a strong possibility of being ongoing based on performance and service needs.
