The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Traded Service is where settings commission additional support to enhance the amount of support within the settings. This is over and above the NHS mainstream service. Leeds CSLT Traded service has been offering enhanced support to school across Leeds and neighbouring areas for more than 10 years. Feedback from schools indicates that this service is highly valued and has shown a very significant impact on children’s communication and educational outcomes.We have an exciting opportunity to grow our current Traded Team and are looking to appoint for both B6 permanent and Fixed term roles (11 mths) within the Leeds Community Children’s Speech and language Therapy Service.You will provide support to a number of mainstream settings on a regular basis. This gives the opportunity to build relationships with the staff and children within the setting,offering bespoke support according to the specific needs. This may include assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), application of additional funding, application for EHCP, implementation of whole school approaches, curriculum differentiation, training to setting staff and environmental modification The service level agreements are rolling 12-month contracts which allows for forward planning, continuity and joined up working with the staff. You will work in the mainstream pathway in the school holidays.We are a very supportive and inclusive Team. We are a large team of highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapists working across several different specialist pathways across the service. We have regular whole staff and small team meetings. We can support your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through our varied in-house training programme aimed at sharing best practice and learning across SLT colleagues. We also provide support from the wider Speech and Language Therapy team with access to supervision with peers and other SLTs, along with relevant CPD opportunities.
