Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Operations Director (Energy Division), you will:
* Oversee the safe and efficient operation of two power plants.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Manage site budgets, financial forecasting, and cost control measures.
* Lead and develop a high-performing operations team.
* Monitor plant performance, ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and contractors.
* Implement and optimise maintenance strategies to maximise plant reliability and availability.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A degree in engineering, waste management, or a related discipline.
* Strong technical knowledge of EfW operations and waste management.
* Proven experience in managing EfW or similar industrial facilities.
* Familiarity with SHEQ standards and compliance requirements.
* Financial and budget management experience.
Personal skills
The General Manager role would suit someone who:
