We are currently recruiting for aHighways Operativeto join our Highways team working on the Norwich project of works. The role is based from our Tarmac Norwich site, in Norfolk and is accessible and commutable from such locations as Norwich, Wymondham, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sheringham, Thetford, Swaffham, Fakenham, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Beccles, Gillingham, The Broads, Aylesham, North Walsham, Dereham and the surrounding areas.As the Highways Operativeyou will be instrumental in the successful delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk region by Tarmac along with our sub-contractors.Other responsibilities for this role of Highways Operativewill include:Support the delivery of our programme of Highways worksWork within a crew to undertake works orders in a planned fashion and to the highest qualityHave a keen eye for detail and report Safety Observations on our Tarmac reporting systemCarry out pre-start checks on each machine you are operating (including hired-in plant)Work to your gangs targets and minimise costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of workingEnsure all plant is safely and securely stored in the designated areas at the end of your shiftBe proactive and update your personal training plan with your line manager at your regular review sessionsAchievement of Company and Contractual KPI’s and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPI’sH & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidentsEnsure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and wellbeing innovationsYou must be able to work overtime to cover out of hours emergency call out as directedIt is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Highways Operativewill have the following:ESSENTIALNRSWA cardExperience in construction and highways maintenance worksA valid UK full manual car driving licence – no more than 6 points
