If so then please read on as we may just have your next role here with us at TarmacWe are currently looking for an experiencedAgent – Highwaysto join and lead our Highways team working on the Norfolk Highways project of works. You will be responsible for the management of supervisors and the successful contract delivery and supervision of teams for our kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk area by Tarmac and / or our sub-contractors. You will provide guidance on highways management matters to the Tarmac company on whose contract/contracts upon which they are operating to ensure their objectives and targets are achieved leading to the successful overall delivery of the project.Main ResponsibilitiesAs the successful Agent – Highwaysyouwill support the management of teams on site (either internal or external providers) to obtain the best possible commercial result for the project and successfully manage any challenge process/processes which our client’s may possess. A vehicle is provided with this role so a valid UK full manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points is required to be held by you and you must be able to travel across the region of work as required for the role.Other responsibilities for this role of Agent – Highways will include:Effective planning, programming and delivery of programme of works across the contractAchievement of Company and Contractual KPI’s and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPI’sEnsure change controls are diligently managed on sitesH & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidentsEffectively manage site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achievedWork collaboratively with our Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across all worksEnsure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and wellbeing innovationsEnsure training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their teamEnsure managerial responsibility for any CDM regulations (principle contractor responsibilities) are being adhered too across all worksEnsure environmental processes and best practice across the contractEnsure all Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teamsThe Ideal CandidateIt is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Agent – Highwayswill have the following:ESSENTIALYou will have worked within a similar role within the Surfacing or Highways industry and have knowledge of on-site Health and Safety policies and procedures associated with the roleHave the ability to work independently and as part of a team and provide leadership in the rolePossess good communications skills and will be able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levelsStrong computer ability to include Excel and WordA certificate in Site Safety ManagementExperience in Surfacing / Highways Maintenance at a supervisory level, this will be in surfacing works and constructionCSCS cardSMSTS certificateHave a flexible approach to location and working patterns in accordance with needs of the businessDesirable:First Aid training & Mental Health First Aid TrainingIOSH trainingThe role is based from our Tarmac Norwich site, in Norfolk and is easily commutable from Spixworth, Wymondham, Taverham, Loddon, Aylsham, Hemsby, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea, Hopton, Lowestoft, Beccles, Dereham, Cromer, North Walsham and the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, ‘who you are’ matters.
