The main purpose of this role will be to holds a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction within a specific geographic region.As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and growth of our plant and tool hire operations in the South West & Wales area.You will ensure efficient delivery, cost control, and high-quality customer service, all while maintaining strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.If you're a strategic, results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and customer satisfaction, we’d love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of our South West & Wales plant and tool hire business.Lead, motivate, and manage a dedicated team of regional managers, sales staff, and operational personnel.Drive operational efficiency, ensuring smooth processes in fleet management, delivery, and collection services.Manage budgets, forecasts, and ensure profit maximisation across the region.Develop and implement strategic growth plans to expand our customer base and increase market share.Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations.Implement best practices to maintain equipment standards and quality control.Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to stay ahead of the competition.Essential Qualifications & Skills:Proven experience in a senior operational management role within the plant and tool hire, construction, or similar sector.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Excellent understanding of fleet management, logistics, and operational processes.Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profit.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Full UK driving licence.What we offer:Monthly cash car allowance or company carDiscretionary bonus schemeHealth CoverLife assurancePension Scheme26 days holiday (plus bank holidays)Free onsite parkingCanteen facilities95% discount across the Speedy brand.My Staff Shop: discounts and offers for shopping etc. across many suppliers.Green Commute Initiative: Work scheme for cyclingPAM– Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Offers free and confidential support and counselling to help you through matters such as wellbeing, divorce, legal, and financial management.Speedy operates an industry leading Work Life Balance initiative, demonstrating our commitment to reducing core contracted hours, supporting colleague wellbeing, and identifying more balanced work patterns for our colleagues which is a huge step in realising our ambition of putting our People First.
