An exciting opportunity has become available for a Transferee Special Constable to join our Disruption team based at Derby.This role will encompass a high visibility proactive role encompassing all types of police related disruption, with intelligence-led deployments around trespass locations, cable theft, infrastructure damage/theft, vulnerable persons, persons in precarious positions (PIPP’s) and events.The successful applicant will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision, conducting predominantly high visibility and occasionally covert patrols to prevent, deter and reduce the impact of disruption related incidents to the railway. Collating and reporting on all incidents attended including arrests, report for process and community resolution. This will also include locations patrolled, intelligence reports submitted, close calls or faults reported via Network Rail and a general daily summary of activity undertaken. You'll be working incredibly closely with Network Rail incident controllers, Mobile Operations Managers and Local Operations Managers and Trespass & Vandalism prevention teams. The main emphasis will be on problem-solving at disruption hotspot locations identified by Network Rail and responding to incidents to ensure that they are resolved as quickly and safely as possible. The team will be expected to work with partners to come up with solutions through engagement with education, engineering, and enforcement. This includes tackling issues that cause disruption through education, making effective interventions to prevent suicide and support those with Mental Health needs.
