As our Electricity team expands, we’re looking for an Electricity Standards Manager to play a key role in shaping and maintaining our electrical network standards.As a Electricity Standards Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining industry standards, overseeing our Electrical Safety Management System, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You’ll also collaborate with key stakeholders and industry bodies to influence future energy developments while working closely with our Gas, Water, Wastewater, and Heat teams to ensure consistency across utilities.This role is home-based with occasional travel to our Hamilton, Glasgow office. What’s in it for you as an Electricity Standards Manager?Here at Last Mile, we pride ourselves in providing a great range of benefits including a fantastic amount of annual leave, including a Christmas shut down.25 days holiday, increasing after 2 years by 1 day each year up to 30 days, plus 9 public holidaysHoliday buy schemeDiscretionary bonusEV and ULEV salary sacrifice scheme (subject to minimum length of service)Cycle to work salary sacrifice schemeUp to 7% employer pension contributionLife assurance (x4 annual basic salary)Refer a friend incentiveWagestreamEmployee assistance programmeCar allowanceFlexible start and finish times for eligible roles*Private medical insurance*Company sick pay**Some of our benefits are only applicable when you have successfully completed your probation period* Your responsibilities as a Electricity Standards Manager:Develop & Maintain Standards – Create, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and performance for all electrical activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.Electrical Safety & Compliance – Oversee the Electrical Safety Management System, maintain authorisation records, and assess the competency of individuals and contractors working on Last Mile Electricity networks.Industry Standards & Engagement – Review DNO/INA/BS standards, represent the company on industry panels and forums, and liaise with ICPs to ensure compliance and continued asset adoption.Technical Support & Validation – Provide expertise in validating and authorising ICPs, supporting asset adoption, and ensuring health and safety compliance in operational processes.Incident Management & Reporting – Assist with regulatory reporting, customer complaints, planned works, and participate in the company’s out-of-hours standby rota for incident cover.Future Energy & Innovation – Investigate emerging technologies, assess network monitoring and automation solutions, and analyse the impact of Low Carbon Technology on Last Mile Electricity networks.Experience / Knowledge:Advanced MS Office Skills (Word/Excel) to author documents and analyse data, including use of MS Word Styles, Cross References, Tables of Contents etc.Ability to author/review/develop standards, procedures, and specifications documents.Excellent knowledge of electricity distribution and construction legislation e.g ESCQR, Electricity Act, Electricity at Work Regulations, BS7671 etcAbility to communicate across all levels of the organisation.High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly in written and oral forms. Qualifications:Electrical Engineering qualification, at ONC level or above, detailing significant operational experience and technical expertise.In depth knowledge of Distribution Safety Rules (DSR’s).Excellent appreciation of electricity network design, construction, commissioning, and operations.  Have you got the drive to go to the Last Mile as a Electricity Standards Manager?
