What Will You Be Doing? Reporting to our Head of Compliance, you will be joining a team of 22 colleagues, operating as part of the second line Group Risk Function. Our core role is to provide advice and assurance to management and our Board on compliance with conduct and data protection regulation, with a particular focus on helping to make sure that our customers are receiving good outcomes.We work with stakeholders from across our homes and money businesses, including in areas such as products, distribution, operations, and quality assurance and our expanding role includes providing support and oversight to our Group firms, primarily Connells and Skipton International.As a Senior Leader in the team, you will work with the Head of Compliance to design how you will execute the role to deliver on the key oversight and support outcomes. Priorities will also include: Develop an understanding of the relevant Group Businesses and their associated regulatory environments and building relationships with key stakeholders.Responsible for compliance oversight of the Group firms, through a combination of formal assurance work and ongoing oversight.Challenge through review of MI and stakeholder engagement, as well as providing support and shar
ing good practice.Support other compliance activities for the Building Society where required, including supporting with quality assurance (QA) of reviews from the Compliance Monitoring plan.What Do We Need From You? We’d love to hear from you if:You have previous experience in a similar role or a background in a transferrable field, such as audit.You have knowledge of and experience in FCA Conduct of Business requirements, preferably in Mortgage Advice, and experience and understanding of the requirements of the Consumer Duty.You hold or are willing to work towards the Certificate in Mortgage Advice (CeMAP) or equivalent qualification.You can work independently and can design and shape the role to deliver the required outcomes.You can influence and persuade others while offering constructive, proportionate and pragmatic support and challenge.You can analyse, interpret and present complex information and communicate effectively.You can provide effective oversight of formal assurance reviews in line with required methodology.We are also interested if you have experience of using data analytics to support assurance reviews or other oversight, however this is not essential for the role.
