What You'll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Occupational Therapist and play a key role in improving the lives of patients who are experiencing sudden, severe, or complex health conditions.

* Key roles of an acute occupational therapist include:

Assessment and Evaluation :

Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate the patient's physical, cognitive, emotional, and sensory abilities.
Identifying areas of functional limitation, including mobility, self-care, communication, and social participation.

Intervention Planning :

Developing individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and preventing further complications.
Creating interventions to support the patient's physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being during their recovery process.

Facilitation of Basic Self-Care :

Teaching patients how to perform basic daily activities like eating, dressing, and grooming with adaptive techniques or devices.
Training patients to use assistive technologies or equipment as needed.

Discharge Planning :

Assessing the patient's needs for home modifications or assistive devices before discharge to ensure a safer environment.
Coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to home or a rehabilitation setting.

Education and Support :

Providing patient and family education on managing the physical and emotional challenges associated with the patient's condition.
Offering emotional support to both the patient and their family, ensuring they understand the rehabilitation process.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration :

Working closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to the patient's care. In the acute setting, occupational therapists are critical in promoting early recovery and preventing long-term disability, ensuring that patients can regain the ability to participate in life roles and activities that matter to them.

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* a current and valid HCPC registration
* experience working with [Conditions/Patient Demographics]
* strong communication and interpersonal skills
* the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role offers a flexible working position requires availability from Monday - Friday with flexibility where possible. The contract has a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
