Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Leading a team of mechanical technicians to ensure the plant is maintained to the highest standard to ensure maximum plant availability
* Scheduling, planning and optimising all mechanical maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
* Supervising and directing contractors.
* Working closely with the operations department to assess and review plant performance shortfalls and how these can be rectified
* Assisting in the setting up and development of the sites Computerised Maintenance Management System
* Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Ideally a HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
* A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader role would suit someone who has:
* Proven supervisory / management experience in a heavy process engineering environment such as Power Generation, COMAH sites, Paper Mills, Pharmaceutical sites, FMCG, etc
* Experience in maintaining and working on a variety of mechanical equipment including boilers, turbines, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation such as PSSR
