Shirley Parsons are partnering with a leading construction company with a strong portfolio of public sector projects to recruit an Environmental Manager. This is a national role, requiring travel to various sites across the UK. Why This Role?
As an Environmental Manager, you will lead efforts to drive sustainability across a variety of high-profile public sector projects. You'll work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, set sustainability targets, and implement initiatives that reduce the company's carbon footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
* Environmental Compliance: Ensure all projects meet environmental regulations and standards, including waste management, water use, and carbon reduction. Provide expert guidance to ensure compliance with industry legislation.
* Carbon Reduction: Develop and implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions, supporting the company's net-zero targets. Identify carbon reduction opportunities and track progress against science-based targets.
* Sustainability Initiatives: Drive sustainability goals on-site, focusing on waste reduction, resource efficiency, and biodiversity net gain. Work with project teams to implement circular economy principles and minimise environmental impact.
* Reporting & Data: Support the development of environmental reporting systems to track waste, water, and carbon usage across projects. Ensure that data is accurately collected, reported, and used to drive continuous improvement.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with project teams, supply chains, and external stakeholders to align on sustainability goals and ensure environmental best practices are met across all projects.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Proven experience in an environmental or sustainability role, ideally in the construction industry.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of environmental legislation, sustainability frameworks (ISO 14001, SECR, TCFD), and carbon reduction strategies.
* Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence teams and external partners.
* Travel: Willingness to travel to multiple project sites across the UK.
