A rare opportunity has arisen for a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) to join the Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team (CSRT). CSRT offers specialist multi-disciplinary rehabilitation to adults who have had a stroke in a community setting. You will work closely with professionals such as occupational therapists physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, dietitians, nurses as well as therapy assistant practitioners. The service provides goal focused, time limited rehabilitation interventions in patient’s homes or other community settings.The stroke rehab team work closely alongside colleagues from Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, as well as third sector organisations such as the Stroke Association, to support patients along the whole stroke pathway, from hospital to home. This is an exciting time for service development as we work towards implementing the new National Stroke Service Model.The successful candidate will receive training in order to be competent in a range of interventions and will continue to learn throughout their role with a robust in service training program.Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
