You will be focused on maximising the commercial performance of key contracts for NGED through engagement with suppliers, NGED operational teams and other NGED commercial management teams to ensure safe, effective and efficient delivery of supply chain works. Supporting the Commercial Manager, you’ll act as a key point of escalation by gathering information, data and insights to support decision making.

As a Contract Lead you will also support the management of key contracts at the point of delivery, engaging with operational stakeholders to provide advice, information and training to enable effective utilisation of the contracts.

As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working with approximately three days in the office and the remainder from home.

Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.
Main Responsibilities
Support the Commercial Manager in administration of strategic NGED contracts ensuring contractual commitments are upheld by both NGED and the supply chain
Engagement with operational teams and suppliers to gather information to support dispute resolution in an independent fashion in line with contractual commitments
Delivery of compliance & audit activities for strategic contracts, ranging from data led, remote reviews, to on-site audit of supply chain partner delivery
Identification of improvement opportunities for strategic contracts, aligned to maximizing value against key NGED strategic objectives and consumer value
Development and delivery of training materials and guidance to support effective operational management of suppliers and contracts
Provide support for performance management of strategic contracts, working closely with the business functions and the contractor(s), to provide the Commercial Manager with key insights

The Ideal CandidateTo be successful you will have proven experience of commercial/contract management and/or procurement together with knowledge of DNO assets and work, or the capabilities to build this knowledge quickly. You’ll be highly analytical and detail focused, but also able to identify insights that drive the greatest value. You’ll be highly organised and strong at planning and thinking ahead.

Showcasing your excellent financial and profit and loss skills, you’ll be able identify the opportunities for driving value. You’ll be a good negotiator who has the presence to build strong relationships with our contractors: being robust where needed, but also able to identify win-wins. You’ll also have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build connections to influence leaders across the Commercial Team and Field Operations.

The role will involve travel throughout the South West area and occasional travel to Wales and the Midlands, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
