We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Library Trainee to join a small friendly team, providing a proactive library & information service. Based primarily at the Trust headquarters (at White Rose Office Park, LS11) you will be providing a service to Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust and other contracted organisations, including primary care across the city and public health staff in Leeds City Council. The varied post will focus on day-to-day service delivery: main duties will involve issue desk work including enquiries, maintaining the document supply service, cataloguing and processing new resources and promoting the library in a variety of ways. We use a library management system that is shared with other NHS libraries across Yorkshire and the Humber and we administer NHS OpenAthens accounts for our users.You would ideally need experience of working in a library or similar environment (or equivalent NVQ Library and Information qualification), and you would need to have confidence and proficiency with IT, a flexible attitude to work and good communication skills.This fixed term post (to 24th November 2025) is ideal for a graduate who is intending to proceed to a postgraduate library / information studies course. For the right candidate, there may also be the opportunity to undertake project work in preparation for academic studies in library and information management.As a member of the LCH library team you will be working with NHS librarians across the city in the Leedslibraries partnership to develop services.
