Are you an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs?

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our team at HCRG Care Group.

In this role, you will provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions, working collaboratively with education professionals, parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to meet the needs of children with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs).

You’ll play a vital role in delivering a high standard of child-centred care, ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people in line with best practice and commissioning priorities.

Main ResponsibilitiesCore Duties:


Manage a caseload of children, including complex cases, across educational settings and provide specialist, child-centred Physiotherapy care.
Collaborate with parents, carers, education colleagues, and the multidisciplinary team to support children’s Physiotherapy needs as part of their EHCP.
Contribute to the EHCP process, including annual reviews, and provide recommendations to schools, parents, and the Service Manager.
Supervise and support therapy assistants, students, and less experienced therapists.
Deliver training programs and contribute to service development, ensuring compliance with performance targets and organisational procedures.
Participate in recruitment and selection processes as needed.


Patient Care Responsibilities:


Assess, diagnose, and formulate therapy plans for children with complex conditions, in collaboration with parents, carers, and other professionals.
Provide advice to health, social care, education, and voluntary sector services, visiting various settings such as homes, schools, and clinics.
Recommend and train families in the use of specialist equipment and manual handling techniques.
Participate in multiagency meetings, including Annual Reviews, safeguarding case conferences, and Team Around the Child meetings.
Complete reports for Local Authorities and support the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) process.
Plan for discharge, ensuring appropriate onward referrals and liaising with community services.


Operational Delivery:


Work flexibly across settings, including schools, homes, and Family Hubs, and deliver virtual consultations where appropriate.
Promote Clinical Governance, risk management, and safeguarding procedures.
Seek supervision and guidance as needed, ensuring ongoing professional development.
Complete incident reports and address any concerns in line with policies.


Job Schedule:


Clinical duties will primarily take place in schools and educational settings, with occasional work in homes or Family Hubs.
Administrative tasks can be done remotely, with equipment provided for agile working.

The Ideal CandidateEssential


Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Evidence of Post graduate training/ proof of continued professional development which evidences the skills / competencies for the role.
Knowledge, experience of Children’s Physiotherapy assessments and interventions related to working with children and an understanding of the theoretical framework underpinning these.

Membership of Special Interest Group
Clinical Educators qualification
Higher qualification in relevant clinical area eg sensory integration
Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS and educational settings
Experience of participation in education of students.
