The Company
You will be joining an organisation synonymous with engineering excellence, developing Engineering and Technology solutions for customers in the Rail Sector. Customer relationships are key, hence the Rolling Stock Engineer we are looking for will have a clear track record of delivering added value services in client facing roles.
About You
Being an experienced Engineering professional within the Aerospace or Rail Sector, you'll understand the necessity for fleet reliability for passenger services, which is paramount this leading provider of sustainable and efficient transport solutions, as well as customers using the rail service across the South of the UK.
You will understand the fundamentals of Maintenance and Reliability working as part of the Technical Team supporting development of maintenance optimisation, reliability improvement and resolving technical and safety issues. Working closely with the Performance Team, you will monitor and understand issues affecting the safety, reliability, maintainability and availability of the fleet and progress activities to resolve them, generating solutions for identified technical issues and customer variation enquiries.
The Role
This position is a Monday to Friday days position, working 40 hours a week where you will be expertly completing engineering issues allocated from the Technical Issues database, working closely with suppliers to exchange technical failure information and discuss possible solutions. You will also be looking into cost effective solutions to improve safety, reliability, and availability, including utilisation of the Vehicle Maintenance instructions (VMIs) and Procedures (VMPs)
Supporting the Production teams concerning Engineering Change documentation, and supporting the audit process through the assessment, prioritisation and categorisation of issues
Requirement
* In depth knowledge of vehicle systems / procedures including schematics, fault finding techniques and download analysis
* Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
* The skills you have to analyse train borne event and fault diagnostic systems.
* Your passion to deliver a high standard of work, present findings, willingness to communicate using different methods and build key relationships to support your role.
