The Facilities Management (FM) Service comprises several diverse and multi-disciplined teams that are responsible for the safe operation, management, maintenance and efficiency of the Council’s property assets.  The teams provide a range of services and support to the Council’s operational, commercial and schools portfolios ensuring the Councils legislative obligations are fulfilled.

Building Cleaning Team – Responsible for ensuring that all Council properties are clean and fit for occupation and securing a high level of occupant satisfaction.

What is the job role?We have multiple part time opportunities for Cleaners within our Cleaning team.

We are a key service department within the Council providing a routine cleaning service to corporate and public buildings, including the Council’s head office at Friargate and libraries. We expect our team to achieve high standards of cleaning and to have a can-do approach, in return for which we offer a competitive rate of pay and pension scheme, good training, development and support.

In your job role you will:


Clean a designated area to a high standard
Undertake mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, polishing and buffing
Cleaning of toilets and emptying bins
Clean with due care to health and safety
Full UK driving licence is desirable for mobile cleaner post

Knowledge of cleaning practises, along with Health and Safety principles.

Number of hours per week: Mobile cleaner 15.5hrs/ mobile cleaner 10hrs/ One Friargate 12.5hrs

Location: Mobile cleaners x 2 posts (City Wide) / One Friargate, Station Square CV1 2GN
