Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the General Manager you will:
* Design solar PV systems for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Perform site evaluations to assess solar performance potential, shading, and structural factors.
* Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and installation teams as well as stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Use software tools such EasyPV, OpenSolar, and PVsol to develop precise solar PV layouts and simulations.
* Conduct energy modelling and financial analysis to evaluate project feasibility and return on investment (ROI).
* Optimise PV designs for maximum efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, considering client needs and preferences.
* Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar PV design and engineering.
* Support costing estimations with technical advice.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Demonstrable experience in Solar PV design, using tools such as AutoCAD, EasyPV, OpenSolar or PVSol (or similar solar design software) is essential.
* A City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a similar field of study.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be desirable but not essential.
* Excellent knowledge of electrical engineering, systems and industry standards.
* A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
