This is an exciting time to join Brandon Hire Station as we embark on a strategic growth model within our lifting and material handling product range. We are launching this across multiple locations with appropriate investment in both new assets and additional depot apparatus. To further enhance these plans we seek additional lifting technicians in a number of our locations around the UK, specifically Birmingham.Reporting into the Branch Manager, the Lifting Technician’s role is to carry out repairs to own and occasionally customers’ lifting equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications and to a high standard and ensure that spares are requested in order to facilitate the speedy repair of equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesTest, visually inspect and repair equipment, ensuring items made available are safe and fully operational.Ensure thorough examination for an item in the hire fleet is completed by a Lifting Examiner.Presentation of equipment: Replacement of worn/damaged stickers, Clean all serviced/repaired equipmentEnsure thorough examination is not overdue on equipment being made available for hireRecord repair data e.g. time allocation and spares usedEnsure individual fleeted items can be easily identifiedAssist in stock takes as requiredTo ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, personal health & safetyEnsure branch/depot is operating within H&S legislationEnsure equipment is loaded correctlyEnsure equipment is not left in public areasEnsure equipment is maintained to fall within H&S legislation standardsWhen it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the businessWhat We’re Looking ForPrevious experience in the range of equipment in the lifting hire fleetLEEA (or similar) qualifications - preferableLifting equipment training (i.e. Genie, Mace, Hackett, tractel, cmco) – preferableRelevant mechanical or electrical qualification (advantageous)Additional training will be providedGood mechanical aptitudeBasic numeracy and literacyValid driving licenceWhat We Can Offer YouCompetitive salaryCompetitive annual bonus schemeSalary sacrifice pension25 days holiday, plus bank holidaysAdditional holiday purchase schemeFree Tool HireLife Assurance cover 3x salaryShare save schemeEye care vouchersRecommend a friend schemeLearning & Development – commitment to upskilling and developing our people, structured in house training available alongside external training where requiredCycle to work schemeLong service recognitionMy Vp discounts – a variety of discounts and rewards on thousands of well-known brandsDiscounts on HP productsEE mobile contract discount offersGym discountsHealth Shield (discounted premiums on health care cash plan)Regit Assist 24/7 accident helpline – free joiningA Little Bit About UsBrandon Hire Station is the leading provider of tool and equipment hire in the UK.Our commitment to exceptional customer support services is unmatched in the industry.
