We are currently looking for a Project Manager at our Tunstead plant in Buxton, Derbyshire. The site is easily accessible from Macclesfield, Sheffield, Matlock, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Oldham, Stockport, Warrington and the surrounding areas.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs the successful Project Manager, you will report to the Cement Plant CX Manager and be responsible for specifying and implementing strategic and complex projects for the Tunstead Cement Plant & Stores. This role is responsible for meeting all project objectives within safety, quality, time and budget, while managing associated risks. Working in close coordination with the plant production and maintenance head of departments, alongside supervisory teams, safety, staff and contractors to ensure successful scoping, planning and project implementation, whilst allocating sufficient resources to optimise plant efficiency and productivity. The role will also have line manager responsibility over a number of project engineers who will be managing their own smaller scale plant improvement projects and supporting the larger projects
On a day to day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager will include (not exhaustive):
Being an integral partner to the Maintenance & Production Teams, ensuring projects are well managed and integrated into Plant control with minimal disruption
Owning their specific project proposals, determining time frames, identifying limitations, procedures for project accomplishment, staffing requirements and allocation of available resources for each project, including CAPEX applications.
Balancing capabilities with demand to ensure the ability to deliver projects, utilising qualified professional internal & external resources.
Managing, developing, motivating & engaging direct reports & large project teams, ensuring project delivery, managing issues and escalating as they arise, ensuring standard governance & compliance is followed for each project
Provide regular program/project health reports & reviews for the CX manager, alongside post implementation project reviews.
Support and provide responses to any internal or external compliance audits or investigations
Proactively engage in the Safety & Health performance and behaviours of the project, plant teams and contractors involved anywhere on site, to continuously improve safety practices and standards
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal Project Manager will hold a recognised engineering qualification with time served experience in similar roles. IOSH Managing Safely and CDM regulations qualifications are a requirement of the role whilst the following would be advantageous; management qualification, NEBOSH Certificate and Prince2.
Suitable candidates for the Project Manager role will also have experience of;
MS Project, Office & SharePoint Software
Autodesk Autocad software
Operational and maintenance knowledge & experience within Cement Plant process or other heavy industrial operation
Budget control using Excel & SAP management & reporting tools
Complete end to end project execution from preparing the feasibility study to implementation and review
Proven leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others
Excellent planning & scheduling skills, managing a range of priorities
Interrogation of complex engineering documents & drawings
Strong and comprehensive verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail with focus on accuracy and timely results
Organisation with the ability to prioritise tasks
Reactive to customer needs and concerns
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
