Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading power company to recruit an Engineering Manager for their quarry site in West Yorkshire
The Engineering Manager role comes with a salary of up to �55,000 + car allowance + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:
* Manage a team of 2 direct reports, plus a larger team of sub-contractors and servicing teams, including electricians, mechanical fitters, fabricators, welders and more.
* Ensure that daily / weekly / monthly inspections are completed and defects reported.
* Align maintenance plans to achieve key performance indicators and / or market demand.
* Plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the plant.
* Provide leadership, coaching, training and development for all employees in the engineering department.
* Analyse performance of the maintenance operation and communicate the results to senior management to drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with ISO standards, environmental standards and management standards are all times.
* Work with Quarry Managers to understand scopes of work, hire subcontractors where required and manage their work through to completion.
* Ensure all staff on site are following health and safety regulations at all times.
* Support internal and subcontractor maintenance teams as technical expert on maintenance works.
* Happy to travel to other sites (within 30min radius of base site) as required.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* At least 5 years’ management experience, ideally within quarry plant or similar heavy industrial site.
* Maintenance experience in similar plant, ideally with an electrical bias.
* QCF 6 / NVQ4 in Extractives is hugely desirable
* Welding / fabrication experience a strong advantage
* Project Management experience is essential.
